WHY ALTIS
The people most affected by the future of AI should help build it.
AI is becoming infrastructure. Yet much of it is still designed around a narrow set of languages, markets, institutions and computing environments.
Altis exists to widen who participates in foundational AI work. We begin from Africa, not as a limitation on the work, but as a source of questions, talent and perspectives that can improve intelligent systems everywhere.
